Women’s jackets and coats in the archives sale

A coat is chosen for many winters, and perhaps no other piece makes quite as much sense in the archives sale. Worn every day, from the morning commute to dinner, it sets the tone of a silhouette before you have even taken off your scarf. Women’s jackets and coats from past Soeur collections are offered here at reduced prices, in the cuts that define the house: generous shapes with room for a wool pullover thick, with slightly dropped shoulders and lengths that cover the knee or stop at the hip, depending on the style.

Cuts borrowed from menswear

From the beginning, Soeur has drawn on menswear to design its most structured pieces. The straight coat with a tailored collar, the peacoat and the double-breasted jacket are direct descendants, reworked with softer proportions and wider armholes that make them feel more natural to wear. This balance of rigour and ease is visible in the details too: a concealed button placket, patch pockets or a back half-belt that keep a piece feeling right from one season to the next.

Wool, shearling, leather: materials that transcend the seasons

The wool coat is the piece most often found in the Archives, frequently cut from dense wool cloth or double-faced wool that holds its shape without a heavy lining. Depending on the collection, there are also leather jackets, shearling pieces and more structured short jackets, worn open over a shirt. The colours remain understated, from camel and charcoal grey to off-black, making them easy to pair with an existing wardrobe or with other pieces from the ready-to-wear in the archives sale. These materials need little care; brushing them after wear is usually enough to keep them looking their best.

Building a silhouette around the coat

For the office, an oversized coat calls for a simple foundation, and a round-collar pullover worn with a wide-leg trousers in a similar tone is enough to create a clean silhouette. At the weekend, a short jacket works better with a dress fluid or with raw-denim jeans for a more relaxed look. For dinner, a double-breasted jacket draped over the shoulders dresses up a simple outfit effortlessly.
